Your research work, with structured review.
The MedRC Six-Week Project Clinic is a planned, selective program for learners with foundational research skills and a feasible question or an approved project already underway. It provides defined milestones, feedback on methods, and structured draft review as you conduct the research and explain your decisions.
THE SIX-WEEK PATH
Weeks 1–2: Question, permissions, and protocol: refine the question, assess feasibility, confirm data rights and required institutional approvals, and agree on a versioned protocol or analysis plan.
Weeks 3–4: Student-led work and reproducibility: complete the evidence or analysis tasks, document changes and contributions, and check that the results can be traced to their sources and methods.
Weeks 5–6: Draft, revise, and assess readiness: prepare a route-appropriate draft, respond to structured feedback, document contributions, and receive a clear next-step decision.
WHAT YOU WILL PRODUCE
A project charter with permissions and a contribution plan.
A defined protocol or analysis plan before the main work begins.
Student-led evidence or analysis files and an auditable change log.
A reviewed draft or other appropriate research artifact when the work meets the required quality standards.
A final readiness report, contribution record, and one agreed next action.
DEFINED SUPPORT
The proposed pilot includes two structured draft-review rounds and one readiness review. Allow approximately 6–8 hours of substantive learner work per week. The proposed cohort is capped at six qualified learners and up to two projects, with roles determined by what each project needs. Complex statistical work requires separately confirmed specialist support.
HOW ENTRY WORKS
Admission depends on demonstrated skills, project fit, permissions, and available supervision. Completing the Research Starter does not automatically grant admission. Learners with equivalent preparation or suitable existing projects may be considered directly. Each stage has a separate scope and purchase decision.
AN HONEST OUTCOME
The final decision may be ready for submission, revision needed, training portfolio only, or paused. Six weeks is the support period, not a promise that a manuscript will be completed or accepted. Publication, indexing, authorship position, application points, and unlimited revisions are not guaranteed. Authors remain responsible for their work and approve any submission.
